Website launch of compliant products for hospitality businesses

Plastic Free Places WA

Now available, the ‘Plastic Ban Solution Finder’ is a go-to guide to search for ban compliant products.

The website, developed by the national non-profit Boomerang Alliance with support from the WA State Government, was created from feedback through their on-ground Plastic Free Places program.

The website helps hospitality businesses quickly and easily find solutions that meet WA plastic ban regulations. With a wide range of packaging alternatives, it helps make the switch simple.

The site also features a range of guides to help reduce single-use packaging, helping businesses to save money and waste.

To use it:

  • Head to www.bansolutionfinder.org
  • Choose WA from the State menu
  • Select your product type(s), then ‘Apply Search’.
  • Filter your selections on the left, and view your results. For more detail on an item, click ‘View Details’.
  • Download or print or print your selections to make ordering easy.

After helping thousands of hospitality businesses reduce single-use plastic, it was clear businesses needed an easy way to find ban-compliant packaging so they could get on with running their operations.

The website provides simple, clear, and up-to-date information provided by an experienced team. Boomerang Alliance independently assesses each packaging product submitted by suppliers to confirm ban compliance, cross-referencing with certification bodies, checking product compositions and verifying claims.

The database has been launched in Western Australia and South Australia with other states to follow.
